Happpy Chanukah to Ya'll

Many of us find this period to be stressful due to travel and expectations of one’s self, friends and family. Winter is naturally a time of retreat and introspection, and the holidays sometimes seem to contradict this impulse. Take some quiet time for yourself each day and reflect on the accomplishments and blessings of the passing year. If the past year was difficult for you, remember what got you through it, and you may see that the blessings were still there, more than ever. Life has its ups and downs- no matter how many downs there are- law of gravity says, whatever goes up must come down. When there are down times there will be an equal amount of up times. Think Positively! As we light the Chanukah candles, we are filled with the hope that these tiny flames will cast away darkness and bring light into our lives. In these times of darkness take a few moments to contemplate the flames, so that we may feel brighter within and allow the glow to spread. May these flames flood our awareness with light. The shadows become illuminated. And may the beauty of life and the blessings of G-d shine brightly. Illuminate, Shine bright, Spread the light. Stay connected and focused on your goals and dreams- live them and make them come true. Be the leader candle, go out there and light the darkness- you have the power. Wishing you a Happy Chanukah and a year full of revealed brightness!

All good times come to an end yet the memories last forever. The path of life may be curvy with it's ups and downs, hills and valleys, stop signs and detours, but the destination will always remain stagment. There one day - gone the next, as if it were a candle blown away with a strong wind, or a light wind, or just someone who didn't want the spark to be shining anymore. Though the candle is no longer lit the wick, the ashes, the smoke remain. Confusion.... Misunderstandings, Miscomuntications or simply just time - can change a life forever. And it does and it will in just a matter of time the life of romantic love stories and dreamy nights will fade and become horror movies and thunderstorms. But when the sun will break through at days wake the realization will break through, life is a much larger picture, and that is just one peice of the puzzle that is removed, to put it back in will take time, effort, patience, and feelings. Be a friend, create memories and let them last beyond a lifetime. Hold on to what you have, cherish all the moments that you live becasue one day you'll look back and laugh and cry at the past, live the present and hang around waiting to see what the future will bring. People will come in and out of your life, but friends, family and the ones you really love will walk through your life leaving such deep footprints try as you might they can not be removed!

End of Sr. yr g'bye poem

We weren't all friends from the start,
But now we're friends with all our heart.
In elementary I may have passed you by
with saying nothing but just a slight hi
Then high school came and classes were split
And we found each other bit by bit
Now in 12th grade our friendships have grown
The paths of our life together were sewn
We've been through such great times throughout the years
We were there for each other through laughters and fears
We ate together at lunch and sang in the halls
We spoke after school by making phone calls
We cheated together gave answers on tests
We dealt with our teachers who acted like pests
Once in a while we had party's - we danced and we ate
We harrased each other 'bout who they would date
When i say I'm pregnant you said your engaged
We always were laughing and in a happy stage
We walked home together and landed in bushes
Thank you for all the wedgies in tushes
we met at gatherings and had fun when we faught
we escaped during school and tried not to get caught
we had parties together when birthdays came along
In the street with no shame we sang every song
We've been through all weathers we danced in the rain,
We had snow ball fights ever though we looked insane
We went to concerts and Shabbatons
Skipped classes to make cotton candy cones
Some times our lack of sleep was quite easy to tell
At times we asked each other "who the hell is Rachel"
But whatever the case is we made it out alive
Now we're onto real life no more acting like 5
You guys have been the greatest, the best friends that I know
To seperate from all of you will not be a cute show
Thanx for all the great times that together we spent
Whenever you saw necisary and extra hand you lent
I can't begin to tell you how I'll miss you all
Looking at the years behind that we had a ball
Next year we won't be together, we'll be quite far apart
But know that I'm thinking of you, you're always in my heart
If i would shed just one tear for all the times I'll miss
I would cry forever, thank g-d tears are endless
I beg you guys to keep in touch until the year does end
I'll miss you more than you'll ever know- you are the greatest friend!

Terse Verse

He wrecked his car, he lost his job
And yet throuhgout his life,
He took his troubles like a man,
He blamed it on his wife.

A friend

Slow Dance

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital.
Live life to its fullest....

SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over

Sayings

I'm nobody, nobody is perfect, and therefore I'm perfect.
If I save time, when do I get it back?
Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.
War doesn't determine who's right. War determines who's Left.
Best way to prevent hangover is to stay drunk.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where train stops. On my desk, I have a work station... What more can I say.
If it's true that we are here to help others, then, what exactly are the others here for?
Living on Earth may be expensive...but it includes an annual free trip around the Sun..
Your future depends on your dreams So go to sleep!
ALCOHOL KILLS SLOWLY So what ? Who's in a hurry
A drunk was hauled into court. Mister, the judge began, you've been brought here for drinking.... Great, the drunk exclaimed. When do we get started
Can you do anything that other people can't? Sure, I can read my handwriting..

THE CARPENTER

THE CARPENTER
An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family. He would miss the pay check, but he needed to retire. They could get by. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor.
The carpenter said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career! .When the carpenter finished his work the employer came to inspect the house. He handed the front-door key to the carpenter. "This is your house," he said, "my gift to you." The carpenter was shocked! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building. Then with a shock we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over, we'd do it much differently. But we cannot go back. You are the carpenter. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. "Life is a do-it-yourself project," someone has said. Your attitudes and the choices you make today, build the "house" you live in tomorrow. Build wisely! Remember...............
Work like you don't need the money.Love like you've never been hurt.Dance like nobody is watching

Sweets your faces are 1/2 cut off but 'tis ok the scenery is nicer anyhow. LoL. Love ya 2! Posted by Picasa

What women need

FOR THE THINKING PERSON ....
WITH A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOUR!King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighbouringkingdom. The monarch could have killed him, but was moved by Arthur's youthand ideals. So the monarch offered him freedom, as long as he could answer avery difficult question.Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and if, after a year, hestill had no answer; he would be put to death. The question: What do women really want?
Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to youngArthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death,he accepted the monarch's proposition to have an answer by year's end.He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everybody: the princess, theprostitutes, the priests, the wise men, and the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.
Many people advised him to consult the old witch; only she would know the answer. The price would be high; the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged. Finally, the last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no alternative but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he had to accept her price first. The old witch wanted to marry Gawain, the mostnotable of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend! Young Arthur was horrified: she was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises... etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature. He refused to force his friend to marry her and have to endure such a burden. Gawain, upon learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur. He told him that nothing was too big a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the preservation of the Round Table. Hence, their wedding was proclaimed, and the witch answered Arthur thus: What a woman really wants is to be in charge of her own life. Everyone instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and thatArthur's life would be spared. And so it was. The neighbouring monarch granted Arthur total freedom. What a wedding Gawain and the witch had! Arthur was torn between relief and anguish. Gawain was proper as always, gentle and courteous. The old witch put her worst manners on display, and generally made everyone very uncomfortable. The hour approached, Gawain, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But what a sight waited him! The most beautiful woman he had never seen lay before him! The astounded Gawain asked what had happened. The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she'd appeared as a witch, she would henceforth be her horrible, deformed self half the time, and the other half, she would be her beautiful maiden self. Which would he want her to be during the day, and during the night? What a cruel question! Gawain pondered his predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his home, an old witch? Or would he prefer having by day a hideous witch, but by night a beautiful woman with who to enjoy many moments? What would you do?(do not read on until you have made up your own mind) Noble Gawain replied that he would let her choose for herself. Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time, because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life. What is the moral of this story?
THE MORAL IS:IF A WOMAN DOESN'T GET HER WAY, THINGS GET UGLY.

P Squared = peer pressure

(perfect for "P squared")
Reporters interviewing a 104 year-old woman:"And what do you think is the best thing about being 104?" the reporter asked. She simply replied, "No peer pressure."
