CELL CHEATS
HS KIDS SENT TEXTS DURING REGENTS EXAMS
Administrators from both schools confirmed through a city Education Department spokeswoman that the students - five from [Leon M. Goldstein] and one from Midwood - used cellphones and Sidekicks to share answers with each other during the exams.
Administrators at Goldstein, where the elaborate cheating network was discovered last Thursday, claimed a seventh student, from Yeshiva of Flatbush-Joel Braverman HS, also was involved.
Upon questioning the boy, Goldstein administrators determined that four female students, and the students from Midwood and Yeshiva of Flatbush, had been involved in the cheating ring dating to the Math B exam on June 15, according to the officials.

Just one moment
People don't realize how important every single moment of their life is. They let life pass them by without realizing that when a moment passes that moment will never come back again.
At work we spend our time wisely trying to make the best of every moment and trying to accomplish all that has to get done. Will we get everything done? Maybe. Maybe not. But our job is to use every moment available to try and make our day as accomplishing and fulfilling as possible.
Though most of us don't realize the importance of one little moment- to some people it means more than a lifetime.
Ask a bride and groom how special one moment of their wedding day is.
Ask someone sitting at a loved ones hospital bed how much they pray every moment to save this life.
Ask a Mom how special she felt the moment her children said their first words or the moment she gave birth to a beautiful child.
Watch a child's face light up the moment they open their birthday gift.
Ask someone who survived a car accident what they felt like the moment they saw the crash about to take place.
Some moments are ones that we wait for and some are moments that we hope never to have to experience. It's all just a moment. We never know what kind of moments life will bring us but whatever they are make every moment count!
I left my house 2 minutes late this morning….. As I'm approaching the exit that I usually get off of to get to work I see a sign that read. "Exit 19- All lanes closed due to car accident." I figured it would be a 10 minute wait, at most.
To make a really long story as short as possible- the wait was 3 1/2 hours. The highway looked as if the world had just stopped, not a car moved an inch for all of the time that we waited. Everyone had turned their engines off (due to extremely high gas prices), that means no air conditioning on a hot June morning. For the first 1/2 hour people just sat in their cars waiting. To add some entertainment to the uncontrollable situation we decided to walk around to the cars saying hi to all the people. We got together a bunch of people to join us for a group photo. We took a little jog up the highway to see what other people were doing- all sorts of things were going on- a whole bunch of truck drivers were playing football across the highway, some people were playing corn toss (a tossing game with bean bags), one man was sitting on a lawn chair next to his car, people were tanning on their hoods, and others (who actually had a life) were sitting on the guard rails with their laptops and cell phones doing business work. And we sat on the street and played a board game which we had in our trunk. To prevent dehydration we asked the driver of a Walmart truck if he has some food or drink to spear and he kindly gave us water and gaterade.
We couldn't see the accident b/c it was too far ahead. We saw fire trucks, ambulances and helicopters coming to help the people but that's all we knew. We got some more information from the radio that said, "A four car pile up. One dead, 4 in critical condition. The wait will be at least another hour but we cannot tell you an exact time."
After 3 hours we, along with some of our car neighbors, decided to walk to the next exit to see what was going on. We walked a mile an when we got there… I can not describe what the scene looked like. The cars involved in the accident didn't even look like cars. They were so badly smashed that it just looked like a collage of metal pieces.
I stopped for a moment and said to the people around me, "Can you imagine, someone innocently driving to work. A dad, mom or child leaves their house in the morning to go to work or school and doesn't come back home when the day is done. We really have to appreciate everything that we have and every moment of our lives that we live." Everyone though about that for a moment and then we just continued laughing and getting back to having fun.
They were just finishing cleaning up the mess and the fireman told us to go back to our cars because they will start the flow of traffic momentarily. We ran 20 minutes down the highway to get back to our cars that we left in middle of the road.
A lady we had met earlier said something that really made me think. "Imagine you left your house 2 minutes earlier today. Do you realize how every moment in your life makes a difference? Going back into your house to get your sunglasses, brushing your hair for an extra minute, putting on your makeup. At the time you may have said 'uh this is taking so long', but if you would have left your house just 2 minutes earlier today you would've been 2 minutes closer than you are now- and you could've been one of the cars in that pile up."
After all our highway fun and games we were finally able to start moving again. We arrived at our destination 4 hours after we left home. When we walked into the house the first thing we did was let out a sigh of relief, 'finally we're here!' And then from upstairs I heard someone say, "You know who was in that car? Pearl and Greg." My heart literally stopped for a moment. I knew the people in that car. Would I have spent even one moment running around the highway if I had known that the people in that accident were people from my community? The situation didn't seem so extreme until I had realized that it happened to someone that I know.
Why couldn't they have left their house just one moment later this morning, just one little moment? What thoughts were they thinking the moment they saw a car swerve from across the highway coming head on into their car. What pains were they feeling the moment they had to be lifted from their vehicle and airlifted to the nearest hospital. What was their families' reaction the moment they heard about this horrible accident. And how did their daughters and family feel the moment they boarded the plane to fly out here to see them in their hospital beds.
To realize the importance of just one moment stop for a second and think about your loved ones, think about all the moments in your life that you hang onto as memories, think about what you can do to make every moment of your day, week, month, and year count. Use every moment you have to its fullest. G-d has His way of running the world- I'm sure if he sees us using every moment we live to its absolute fullest extent He will let our moments last a complete lifetime.
Please take a moment and say tehillim for Perel Rashel Bas Miriam & Gershon Gedalia Ben Chana Rus

I am posting pictures not to show you how much fun I was having on the highway but just to help you visualize the situation.
